Islandic bread

This bread recipe is perfect for those who want to enjoy homemade bread with minimal effort. Baked for 8 hours at a low temperature, the bread turns out soft and aromatic. Simple to make, this bread pairs wonderfully with a slice of butter.

Ingridients:

200 g rye flour
100 g whole wheat flour
2 tsp. leavening agent
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
250 ml. non-fat kefir or yogurt
125 ml. golden syrup

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 95°C (200°F).

Grease a 10*20 cm loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.

In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.

In another bowl, mix all the liquid ingredients.

Combine the dry and liquid ingredients and knead into a soft dough.

lace the dough into the pan (the dough should fill no more than ⅔ of the pan), cover with foil, and bake for 8 hours.

Serve with butter on each slice.
